Famous Dave's Sunless Tanner Review & Giveaway Alert!!

Famous Dave's sent me a pump bottle of Self Tanner, a guide and an application mitten.

I love sunkissed, tanned skin but without the harsh UVA and UVB rays from the actual sun or tanning beds. Naturally, I jumped at the opportunity to review Famous Dave's Self Tanner.

Most sunless tanning lotions would leave me streaky and orange-y, even if I had applied it carefully. Not to mention, I would have brown palms when I finished.

Famous Dave's offer an exfoliating scrub to prep the skin. I found that the sunless tanner works best if you shower, exfoliate the skin and then pat dry.

After pat drying, I placed the trendy blue application mitten on. It had one blue side with the Famous Dave's logo on it and the other side was a soft brown material, perfect for applying the sunless tanner.

Most sunless tanners have an awful chemical smell to them. But this self tanner was fragrance-free and chemical-smell free! :)

I started with my face, I applied a 4th of pump on the mitten and started working the tanner in small circular motions from forehead down. I was careful to get my neck and even behind my ears.

I moved down my body with the tanner, following the guide. I made sure to get the top of my hands and feet. I made sure that I was applying it so that the tan looked natural and even.

I noticed too, I didn't so much have to guess where I was applying the tanner. The self tanner has a color guide to it so I could see where I had just applied the tanner. 

In five minutes, you are completely dry and can put your clothes back on. The tanner develops anywhere from 4-6 hours after your first application.

I walked outside to talk to my in-laws. My mother-in-law said, "Renee, you can just walk by the sun and it jump all over you! Makes me so jealous!" I couldn't keep this secret all to myself. I had to tell them I had just applied the Famous Dave's Self Tanner. 

Even though I am already dark, I love to keep my skin sun-kissed and glowing. I found that to achieve the darkness I desired, I had to apply it two days in a row.

Everyone is different and their skin is different but this Self Tanner has a color for everyone from Light to Dark.

Ecco Bella Review

Ecco Bella, a Natural Skincare line, sent me a small box, which contained two bottles of lotion, a trendy black envelope with a small booklet and coupons inside!

Ecco Bella is an organic, herbal, animal friendly company. They were started to provide cruelty-free organic cosmetics and natural skin care products, so they never test on animals. The effort grew to include products derived from organics and vitamins.

I found from reading the booklet that every product multi-tasks, helps the enviroment and helps you monitarily. For example, all the skincare products are so rich in beneficial aloe and vitamins, they have both anti-aging and anti-blemish benefits combined. For you, that means fewer products to buy. :)

The nutraceutials in the sin care products are first encapsulated in trillions of microspheres called VitaminCells. This means they remain pure and potent until you need them.

I had the oppportunity to indulge myself in the most luxurious body lotion on the market. The lotion scents were lavender and vanilla, 100% water-free , 70% Organic, preservative-free and gluten free.

I first tried the Vanilla lotion. Vanilla has always been my favorite and there are so many varities of the vanilla smell. Some smell too strong, some too much like a cake, so I was eager to see how this smelled on the skin and how long it lasted.

I opened the top and it had a sweet, fresh vanilla smell to it. I put it on my skin and was extremly impressed with the immediate moisture it added to my skin. The extra vitamins and enzymes in the lotion help to add a noticeable softness to your skin.

The lotion lasted forever. I could still smell it on my skin, 6 hours later as I layed in bed. I have never had a lotion last quite that long before.

I was curious if the Lavendar would be similar. Opening the lavendar bottle, it was a strong smell and I was nervous because Lavendar isn't my favorite scent in the world.

Ecco Bella is the first company that gave me a pleasant experience with the Lavendar scent. It smells wonderful and of course nourished my skin leaving it soft and supple for hours. I used the lotion all over my body, it completely moisturized the dry spots and nourished my entire skin.

The high heel shoe; no other fashion or accessory has caused women more pain and suffering through the centuries, be it physical agony or financial insolvency. Yet still, the bond between women and high heel shoes remains untarnished. Many (especially men) have tried to understand the relationship between a girl and her high heel shoes, but to no avail! What can one say, other than the fact that it must be love? 

Shoes have been around for years, originally as a practical tool and mode of, erm, transportation. They arose from a need to walk places, but due to human nature and evolution, soon became a status symbol and a huge part of the fashion world. The nobles were the first to wear shoes to increase their height. Between the 15th to 17th century the longer and pointier the toes of your shoes were, the more higher your status in society was considered to be. These days, however, shoes are somewhat less of a status symbol, with the whole demolition of the “Kingship” concept; and have become more readily available, with a larger range of more fun, fashionable, elegant and alternative styles! 

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly – Different Types of High Heel Shoes 

High heel shoes come in a variety of styles, from peep toe high heel shoes, sling-back high heel shoes or stiletto high heel shoes. The list is endless but it shows how far styles have evolved within the high heel shoe industry. With such a high demand these days from women to have the perfect pair of high heel shoes with every outfit, high heels have become a must have accessory for every fashion conscious woman. 

What celebrities are known for their high heels? 

Celebrities such a Sarah Jessica Parker, Victoria Beckham and Gwen Stefani have all become high heel shoes style icons. Sarah Jessica Parker, most famously after demonstrating some truly amazing styles in Sex and the City all based around a pair of fabulous high heel shoes, played Carrie Bradshaw in the US hit show and was completely obsessed with high heel shoes, including branded shoes such as Manolo Blahniks and Jimmy Choos. Every girl who has a sense of style can relate to Carrie’s obsession with high heel shoes, and the well kept fashion secret that no outfit is an outfit without a pair of fabulous high heels. 

Some designers have unfortunately taken the concept of high heel shoes a little bit too far. East London born Alexander McQueen decided to experiment with high heel shoes that have not one, but two heels. 

Manolo Blahnik and Marc Jacobs decided to go the opposite way by designing high heel shoes, without a heel. 

So yes, there are many weird and wonderful styles of high heel shoes out there, but with such a range and varied selection, it is easy to see why there is such a hype around high heel shoes.

Advantage II from Vet Depot Review!

Advantage II From Vet Depot

Jezebell and I received this package a few days ago. VetDepot.com had sent us a four month supply of Advantage II Flea & Tick treatment.

I haven't had problems with fleas or ticks until lately. I keep my carpets vacuumed and yards treated. But fleas come with the territory of owning a furry sidekick.

I have only had my kitten a few months. My boyfriend rescued her and brought her home to me. I immediately took to her, bought her a pink collar with a bell on it, named her Jezebel and started pampering her. She has everything she could ever need or want. My boyfriend jokes that even though he brought her home, I was the one who has rescued her by spoiling her rotten.

So, naturally I can't stand thought of her scratching at flea bites.
She HAS to have something that WORKS!

I have been weary of using the liquid treatment because of past failed attempts with knock off brands, but Advantage II from VetDepot.com was effortless to apply and completely odorless!

The directions say to part the cats hair at the base of the neck and apply the medicine there. Doing so will minimize the chance of the cat licking the medicine and getting it into their mouth. Cats are instinctively clean animals and can't resist trying to lick it off. Jezebel couldn't resist trying to lick as far back as she could reach.

A little bit of the medicine got into her mouth anyway. Immediately, she sprinted a foot or so and stopped. I am assuming the bitter taste was quite a shock to her. Thank Goodness I had read the pamphlet though, because she started drooling incessantly! I was already prepared for something like this to happen. I put a little bit of water into my hand and she licked the water off my fingertips and from the puddle in my hand. We repeated this several times and it seemed to help. She stopped drooling a few minutes later and then went about like nothing had ever happened. I watched her for a bit though, distracting her when she acted like she was going to try to lick again.

Advantage II contains Imidacloprid and Pyriproxyfen which kill existing fleas within 12 hours and regulate insect growth to break the flea life cycle. It's safe for kittens over 8 weeks and waterproof!

I am pleasantly surprised that a day and a half later, I have not found a single flea on her! Since I applied this medicine, I have vacuumed again to make sure any remainder flea eggs were destroyed and all traces gone!

She hasn't scratched the first time since yesterday!  

The box even had three stickers on the back so I could mark my calendar with a "Reminder" to apply her next dose.

Wet, Wipe, Wow! Seriously!

I received a package from Skoy Enterprises. It was neatly wrapped and even had what looked like a recycled paper bow tied around the Skoy Cloths for aesthetics. Not like these cute hardy and colorful cloths needed the bow to beautify them but I admit, it was a gorgeous touch.

Skoy Enterprises is an organic earth friendly company started when two stay at home moms realized just how many paper towels were actually filling up at our landfill. The numbers were astounding! 2.5 MILLIONS tons.... OF PAPER TOWELS.... wow. These California beauties made it their goal to help lower that heart-sinking number, one cloth at a time. Using just one cloth is equivalent to using 15 rolls of paper towels in a home.

That's huge for families! Not only are you saving the earth by reducing the amount of waste and tree-killings, but think of the MONEY you save. 15 Rolls of paper towels in ONE cloth!

What could be more fun than these cloths with the bright colors and sweet flower print? THE NAME! :) Skoj (Pronounced Skoy) in Swedish means  "Just for Fun".
A suiting name, since cleaning my kitchen and bathroom with this cloth WAS fun.

Cleaning is FUN to me, considering I'm extremely OCD. I find nothing more fun than turning on the music and organizing my house, making sure everything has it's place and eliminating any germs or dirt I may find in my venture. :)

The cloths came in a four pack, so I assigned one cloth specifically to the Kitchen, Living Room, Bathroom and one for the Bedrooms. These are reusable cloths and have an amazing durability. Even though I originally assigned one cloth to a category, I found myself wetting the cloth, sanitizing it in the microwave for 2 minutes, letting it cool and continuing on to the next job. Make sure the cloth is wet if you decide to microwave it and completely cooled before you handle it. They tend  to get HOT HOT HOT! :)

All in all, I was extremely amazed at how well these cloths stood up against my crazed cleaning modes. It didn't tear up on me! :) I just wet it, wrung out the excess water and cleaned. The warm water helped remove any dirt or debris. Although you can still use your favorite cleaner with the Skoy Cloths, if needed.They have a texture to them helping to scrub and wipe up little sticky messes. No more pads scraping my baseboards!

I will never buy paper towels again. Skoy Cloths have me hooked. My home is super clean, dust free and I still have one like new pad and 3 never used pads waiting for the next cleaning day!
